Volta Mantovana è una cittadina di origine medievale. Ancora oggi il borgo conserva, nel centro storico, i resti del castello eretto nel XI secolo.
Oltre al castello a Volta è possibile visitare il bellissimo Palazzo Gonzaga, un tempo di proprietà dei signori di Mantova ed oggi sede comunale. Annesse al palazzo vi sono le due torri, da cui si gode un panorama mozzafiato.
